Thomas “Tom” Wade Mote, 63, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away at his home on April 6th.
Tom was born on October 1, 1962, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Ruth (Harrison) Mote and Oliver Mote. He graduated from Geneva High School with the Class of 1980.
Tom enjoyed disc golf, bicycling, cooking, gardening, and art. Disc golf held a special place in his heart, leading him to co-design the acclaimed Punderson State Park Disc Golf Course, leaving a lasting impact on the disc golf community in Ohio and beyond. Known for his adventurous spirit, Tom also once held a Guinness World Record for pogo sticking.
He is survived by his children, Theodore (Jessica) Mote and Dalaney (Jarrod) Virant; his grandchildren, Penelope Mote, Amelia Mote, and Lillian Virant; and his siblings, Michael (Gina) Mote, Diana (Rand) Cole, and Daniel Mote, along with 7 nieces and nephews and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth (Harrison) Mote and Oliver Mote.
Per Tom’s request, there will be no services.
