Verla "Jo Jo" Thailing (Hrisko), of Geneva, Ohio, passed away on June 8, 2024, unexpectedly at her home. She was born on September 23, 1971, in Beeville, Texas to parents Lawrence Hrisko Sr. and Donna Anderson (Chamberlin).
Jo graduated from Geneva High School in 1989. She married her husband, Paul Thailing, on June 29, 2007. Jo was well known in the community from being raised there and her many years at Honeybee's restaurant. Jo loved the outdoors. She spent a lot of her free time kayaking, hiking, fishing and camping with her beloved family and friends. If she was not doing her favorite outdoor adventures or with her grandchildren, she could be found with her best friends at a concert or Rock music festival.
Jo is survived by her husband, Paul; daughter, Sommer (Jesse) Varndell; grandchildren, Waylon and Walker Varndell; parents, Lawrence (Judy) Hrisko, Sr. and Donna (James) Anderson (Chamberlin); brother, Lawrence (Irene) Hrisko, Jr. and many loving friends.
There will be a celebration of life held on July 14, 2024, from 1:00-4:00pm at the Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark, on the south side of the river.
