Veronica Lynn Gersin

Veronica Lynn Vaughan Gersin, affectionately known as "Roni," passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at her daughter Jaimie's home. She was 70 years old.

Born on January 14, 1956, in Ashtabula, OH, Veronica was the beloved daughter of the late Alan Vaughan and Elizabeth "Bettie" Newell and was raised by Russell and Elizabeth Newell.

Veronica will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering patience. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcome and cared for, and her forgiving nature touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her family will forever cherish the love, warmth, and compassion she shared so freely.

For 13 years, Veronica worked at Longo's, where she truly enjoyed getting to know the customers who frequented the restaurant. Many knew her by name and appreciated her friendly smile and genuine kindness.

In her free time, Veronica found joy in simple things. She loved reading books, sewing, cooking, completing crossword puzzles, watching classic movies and scary shows, and spending time with her family over a good cup of coffee. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she held a deep and abiding trust in God.

Veronica is lovingly survived by her daughter, Jaimie Vaughan, who she affectionately called "her one and only"; her grandchildren, Jordan Vaughan, Alexis Vaughan, Destiny Vaughan, Erianna Gersin, and Aiden Gersin; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Freya, Amyiah, Clover, and Rue. She is also survived by her sisters, Dawn (Gary) Breedlove and Valerie (Rich) Hamilton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Elizabeth "Bettie" Newell, and her sister, Deborah Brelo.
