Wanda Sue Winchell

Wanda Sue Winchell, 78, of Rock Creek, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness.

Born on August 27, 1947, in Bartley, West Virginia, Wanda was the daughter of Floyd and Polly Blair, who preceded her in death.

Wanda shared nearly 32 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Mike Winchell, whom she married on November 3, 1994, in Jefferson, Ohio. Together they built a life centered on family, love, and dedication to those around them.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; her sons, Robert, Michael, and Joseph (Angela); her grandchildren, Joseph, Shyanne, Cody, and Austin; her brother, Junior of North Carolina; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Wanda dedicated 20 years of service as Head of Housekeeping and Laundry at Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation, where her hard work, commitment, and caring nature were appreciated by coworkers and residents alike.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Hospice of the Western Reserve for the compassionate care and support provided to Wanda and her loved ones.

In accordance with Wanda's wishes, no services will be held. She will be laid to rest at Austinburg Center Cemetery.

Lake Erie Cremation & Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Rd, Geneva, OH 44041, assisted the family with arrangements.
