Wayne Albert Richardson "Penguin", 71, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away peacefully June 10, 2022 at his home.
He was born August 27, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Kendall Richardson and Rosemay (Braithwaite) Braessler and step-son of George Braessler and Elizabeth Richardson. Wayne graduated from Pymatuning Valley High School and honorably served in the US Army from 1968-1971. After his discharge, he completed courses with Hillsdale College.
Wayne loved his family and friends and enjoyed music and sharing his own musical CD's with all who touched his life.
He is survived by his loving siblings, Victoria (William) Dresnek of Jefferson, OH, Margaret (Harry) Parks of Andover, OH, Michael (Cindy) Braessler of Brandenburg, KY, Loretta Emmons of Martinez, GA, Rita Stroyny of Cambridge Springs, PA, Jeffrey (Pamela) Braessler of Williamsfield, OH, and Jennifer (Bryan) Hawkins of Dorset, OH; sister-in-law, Devon Braessler of Cleveland, OH. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and step-parents; siblings, infant brother, Kathryn Prater, and Timothy Braessler; nephews, Henry Darrel Hess, Jr. and Gene Paul Richards; niece, Tamara Lynn Parks.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at St. Joseph Calasanctius Catholic Church, 32 East Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio 44273 with full Military Honors.
In place of flowers, contributions can be made to Bella Care Hospice, 1933 State Route 45, Austinburg, Ohio 44010 or St. Joseph Calasantius Catholic Church.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to Bella Care Hospice for their excellent care and the Veterans Service Commission for the beautiful pinning ceremony.
