Obituary

Wesley A. Kish, 42, passed away peacefully at his home on March 18th, 2023.
Wes was born in 1980 in Painesville, OH to loving parents, Helen & Jerry Kish. He was a brilliant, creative, and funny soul. He could accomplish anything he put his mind to from writing to artwork to cooking. He loved music, shoes, shopping, ice cream, laughter, and his friends and family. His love for people and his sense of humor made him a joy to be around. He was the absolute best gift giver. His thoughtfulness for his loved ones, especially at Christmas time, enabled him to always choose the most perfects gifts.
Like so many of us in this world, Wes was no stranger to the ups and downs of life and had struggled with his own demons for many years. However, through his faith in God and unwavering determination and support from his family and best friend Sarah, he overcame countless obstacles and had proudly been clean and sober since September 25th, 2017. In the last few years he dedicated himself to helping others. He graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and Chemical Dependency and worked as a Licensed Chemical Dependency counselor with Catholic Charities in Cleveland, OH. He truly loved what he did and was passionate about helping others turn their lives around and showing them what was possible. He was extremely proud of his recent accomplishments and was in the process of obtaining his Master's degree through Cleveland State University's accelerated program. Because of Wes's strong faith and love in God, he was able to use his past life experiences to help the next person. He understood that when you find yourself in the position to help someone, you will be happy and feel blessed because God is answering that person's prayer thru you. Wes applied that philosophy in every aspect of his life.
Wes is survived by his loving parents, Helen & Jerry Kish, brothers, Nick Kish and Aaron (Lindsey) Kish, nephew, Calben Kish, best friend, Sarah Vagi, grandfather, Elmer Kish, aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving friends.
Wes is preceded in death by his grandparents John and Bessie Magoun and grandmother Margaret "Margie" Kish and his beloved cat Harvey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Matt Talbot for Men, an organization through Catholic Charities that Wes felt very strongly about.
Wes, our hearts are broken that you left this world so soon, but we take comfort in knowing that your kind and selfless soul is free, and you are no longer in the physical pain you had been experiencing.
We will always love and miss you.
We will think of you in everything we do.
A Celebration of Life service will be planned at a later date. Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, OH assisted the family with arrangements. www.LakeErieCrematory.com
