William Edgar Conley (known affectionately to family and friends as Wild Bill, Mr. C., and Pappy), 71, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away on July 8, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic following ongoing health challenges.
Born on May 31, 1955, in Ashtabula, Ohio, William was the son of Raymond and Mary Katherine Conley, who preceded him in death. He was a lifelong resident of the Ashtabula area and a proud high school graduate who furthered his skills through welding certifications, including TIG and MIG welding.
William dedicated much of his working life to Bailey Controls, where he worked for 28 years as a welder before retiring. Throughout his career, he was known for his strong work ethic, craftsmanship, and willingness to lend a helping hand.
William was an avid car enthusiast and a devoted Cleveland Browns fan. He enjoyed shooting pool, camping, cooking on the grill, listening to music, and spending time in front of his beloved 100-inch television. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with family and friends.
William is survived by his daughters, Holly Conley and her husband, Orlando Correa, and Kathleen Rohrbaugh and her husband, Nick. He was a proud grandfather to Raymond Correa, Alex Correa, Zachary Rohrbaugh and Krista and was also blessed with two great-grandsons. He is further survived by sisters, Chris (Ron) Caldwell, Shirley Milam, and Mary Lou-Dodie and her husband, Darren Dimare; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Conley Jr.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of DaVita Dialysis Center on Carpenter Road in Ashtabula, Ashtabula Regional Medical Center, and Cleveland Clinic for the care and compassion shown to William throughout his health journey.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
