William (Bill) Arthur Purcell, 76, of Painesville, Ohio peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Geneva Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.
Bill was born October 11, 1948, in Painesville, Ohio to William and Evelyn (Ludwig) Purcell. He attended The Ohio State University and went on to receive his Masters of Chemistry from Cleveland State University. After graduating, Bill returned home to take care of his mother, offering her support as she faced challenges with her health. He was a devoted son and Christian whose life was guided by unwavering faith. He found strength, comfort, and purpose in his relationship with God and spent countless hours reading and reflecting on the Bible.
He is survived by his sister, Patricia Simpson; nieces Rebecca (Etienne) Bissonnette and Kimberly (Phillip) Igwe; great nieces Anabelle Bissonnette and Olivia Igwe; great nephews, Theodore Bissonette, Joseph Igwe, and David Igwe.
William was preceded in death by his parents, William and Evelyn (Ludwig) Purcell.
At his request, there will be no service. In accordance with the family's wishes, and in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be sent to Hospice of the Western Reserve at https://www.hospicewr.org .
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
