William Edward Schwab II, age 68, of Eastlake, OH, passed away on March 8, 2023. Born on July 3rd, 1954, in Cleveland, OH., to parents William and Marlyn Schwab. He was a husband, a father, and a wonderful friend to many. William was an employee of General Electric for 35 years. Married to his wife, Beth (Ford) Schwab for 45 years, and raised two cherished daughters, Dana Marie Schwab and Shannon Marie Schwab both of Eastlake, OH. William had a passion for drag racing and cars. He spent many years racing with his brother-in-law, (the late) Robert E. Ebert. He was a crew chief for the last few years for Mr. Bill Bowman of Aurora, Ohio, and he raced at Norwalk Thompson and Dragway 42.
He is survived by his loving wife Beth and his daughters, Dana and Shannon. He is also survived by his sister, Kimberly (Schwab) Phalen of Eastlake, OH.; and his nephew, Robert Ebert and children of Willowick, OH., who were some of his biggest fans. Survivors also include William's extended family, The Schura's of Willoughby, OH., and the Hanson's of Jefferson, OH. William also has many nieces and nephews of whom he loved so dearly and his son-in-law's who he thought so highly of, Gene Stewart and Robert Henderson Jr., both of Eastlake, OH. He is preceded in death by his parents William E. Schwab and Marlyn (Poghen) Schwab and his sister Carlyn Ebert. A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a future date.
