William L. Stalnaker

William L. Stalnaker, aged 85, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at his home in Geneva.

He was born on March 6, 1941, in Morgantown, West Virginia, to the late William Price and Anna (Knight) Stalnaker.

On May 21st, 1961, He married the love of his life Janet, the two shared over 60 years together.

William had a very long and full life, In the 1970s, he started Little League in Madison and served as president of the league for a couple of seasons. He served on Madison Village Council for quite a few years then became the Mayor of Madison Village for a term, he then retired from politics.

He was a self-taught Designing Mechanical Engineer and designed many different machines as well as part specific items for machines.

His love for motorcycles came into his life in the mid-1970s, his passion for riding remained deep throughout his whole life, he also enjoyed camping and loved boating.

A couple of amazing accomplishments for a man that had a scooter chair that he rode around everywhere, was that in his final year, he was literally banned from Walmart and McDonald's in Madison, Ohio because he was a bit too cranky at times. Of course they didn't honor the ban, they were always great with him, he always laughed when he told us he was banned again.

Other than his wife, his main loves were his daughter and his grandchildren, great grandchildren and was blessed to be a great-great-grandfather for the last year of his life.

William is survived by his daughter, Debra Stalnaker (Robert Bellow); grandchildren, Melissa Holbrook (Christopher Bertone), William Holbrook (Jessica Stavange-Holbrook); bonus granddaughter, Angelique Drzik; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Zoey, McKayla, Jaylin Mattew and Abel; great-great-granddaughter, Alani Holbrook; nieces, Shannon Acoria and Naomi Stalnaker; as well as an aunt and numerous cousins; and his dear friends, Russell Williams and Matthew Barber

William was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Stalnaker; his parents William and Anna Stalnaker; children, Nannette and William; and his brother, Thomas Stalnaker.

No services will be held at this time, the family will be having a celebration of life in the late spring/early summer (he loved to be outside)
